SOLAR BIKE PATH

More and more cities are changing their patterns of mobility more sustainable models, promoting the use of electric vehicles, public transport and especially the use of bicycles.

At first glance all are advantages for the city and citizens. With the use of bicycles reduce pollution, traffic jams, stress and a sedentary lifestyle and improve air quality in the city and our health.

But incorporated the bicycle into the model of urban mobility, requires lanes or bicycle paths to integrate into an existing vehicles and / or pedestrians.

It's a great opportunity to give these new ways of generating power capacity, whether for lighting or self-adjacent bike path, through systems with LED backlighting, perfect for isolated facilities.

THE FIRST KINETIC SOLAR BIKE PATH WILL BE LAUNCHED THIS SUMMER

The consortium created by OTEM2000 and Dutch companies Energy Floors BV and EasyPath BV are already working on to develop this new concept bike path, which will use an innovative way to get profit of the sun and the kinetic energy produced daily by the Dutch cyclists, and from anywhere in the world, to produce local, clean and sustainable electricity, increasing profitability in isolated and intercity sections. The consortium is committed to a scalable project. In the first phase there will be a test pilot and technology before the end of the year. The consortium have plans to install a bike path with 10-20 m of length and 2 m of width.

It is expected to use the energy generated to power the signaling channel width by intergrades LEDS on the same platform, adjacent smart street lighting system and charging stations electric bicycles.

With these charging stations, powered by the energy generated by the bike path, OTEM2000 aims to achieve the goal of a mobility with 0.0 emissions at a time when cities work to change and adapt their mobility patterns to a new model based on Sustainability.

As example, electric bike consumption is 1 kWh / 100 km. Our station platform based SolarFloor produces 125 kWh / m2 * year. With this power, the electric bike could ride 18 times the distance between Barcelona and Rotterdam: A total of 23,000 km / year.
