OTEM2000 and Energy Floors install world’s first Walkable Hybrid Energy System at RDM Rotterdam
A first version of the Hybrid Energy Floor (HEF) and Hybrid Energy Tile (HET) – created by Energy Floors and Spanish start-up OTEM2000 – are installed and ready to use at RDM Rotterdam. Both are the world’s first energy solutions that combine solar and human power to generate electricity.
Hybrid Energy Tile (HET) and Hybrid Energy Floor (HEF)
The revolution flooring starts at RDM Rotterdam. The clean energy solutions are installed in the Energy Floors showroom at RDM Rotterdam. The Hybrid Energy Tile (HET) consists of walkable solar tile as top layer (developed by Spanish start-up OTEM2000) and energy floor tiles that convert kinetic energy from human movement into electrical energy (developed by Energy Floors). The solar tile can be initially placed next to the energy floor tiles, mixing both tiles in the pavement, to create Hybrid Energy Floor (HEF).
Both solutions are available to be customized (logos printed, colored, led lighting system embedded, etc …) or branded for your marketing campaign.

Walkable Hybrid Energy Floor for high footfall areas
These Walkable Hybrid Energy Floor are developed for outdoor high footfall areas. They can be installed on commercial streets, public squares, parks and pavements. OTEM2000 and Energy Floors work closely together to make Hybrid Energy Solutions suitable for vehicle traffic in the near future.

Estimated Standard Energy output
The smallest HET (75 x 75 cm) can generate up to 60kWh per year, per tile. The HEF, based on the big solar tile (1 x 2 meter), generates up to 250 kWh per year, per solar tile as example. It uses solar photovoltaic panels with CIS, monocristalyne or polycrystalline as solar technology. Main benefits of CIS solar technology are its excellent performance in shady areas and its maximum energy production with minimum power use.
